Any IBT member, Local Union or other subordinate body, or the IBT, may file a protest with the Election Supervisor alleging noncompliance with the Rules. Read Article XIII of the Rules, and click on the “File a Protest” link on this page for guidance on how to submit a protest.
The Office of the Election Supervisor investigates protests. Rulings on filed protests are published to this website.
Any party to a protest ruling of the Election Supervisor may request further review by the Election Appeals Master, Hon. Barbara S. Jones (Ret.). Every protest ruling informs the parties how an appeal may be taken to the Election Appeals Master.
Judge Jones served seventeen years as United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York before retiring to private practice in 2013. She assumed the role of Election Appeals Master for the 2020-2021 International Officers election and performs this function in addition to her service as Independent Review Officer for disciplinary matters arising under the Final Order.
