Re: Election Office Case No. CONV-26-IBT
Gentlemen:
James P. Hoffa, a candidate for general president, filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”) alleging that the IBT has been assisting supporters of General President Ron Carey to obtain lead positions at microphones on the floor of the Teamsters 25th International Convention.
Mr. Hoffa now informs the Election Officer that he wishes to withdraw the protest. Finding that withdrawal effectuates the purposes of the Rules, the Election Officer permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
