INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS
IN RE: FRED GEGARE, ) Protest Decision 2011 ESD 295
) Issued: July 2, 2011
Protestor. ) OES Case Nos. P-298-063011-NA
____________________________________)
Fred Gegare, member of Local Union 662 and candidate for IBT General President, filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article III, Section 5(n) of the Rules for the 2010-2011 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”). The protest alleged that the Hoffa-Hall 2011 campaign obtained an impermissible employer contribution when its campaign placard was placed at the cashier’s station inside the Sidewalk Café at Bally’s hotel.
By email received July 1, counsel for the protestor requested to withdraw the protest. Finding that withdrawal furthers the purposes of the Rules, we deem this protest WITHDRAWN.
