Re:  Election Office Case No. P-939-LU624-CSF

Gentlemen:

Bob Blanchet, a member of Local Union 287, filed a pre-election protest pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules for the IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”), claiming Local Union 624 refused to provide Ron Carey, incumbent general president and candidate for re-election, with work-site lists and membership meeting data, in violation of the Rules.

The protester now advises the Election Officer he wishes to withdraw his protest because Local Union 624 has provided the requested information.  The Election Officer, finding that the requested withdrawal effectuates the purposes of the Rules, permits this protest to be WITHDRAWN.

Any interested party not satisfied with this determination may request a hearing before the Election Appeals Master within one day of receipt of this letter.  The parties are reminded that, absent extraordinary circumstances, no party may rely upon evidence that was not presented to the Office of the Election Officer in any such appeal.  Requests for a hearing shall be made in writing and shall be served on:
