Re: Election Office Case No. P-1304-JHS-NYC
Gentlemen:
A pre-election protest was filed pursuant to Article XIV, Section 2(b) of the Rules
for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election (“Rules”) by
Pat Connell, a member of Local Union 807. In his protest, Mr. Connell alleged that the Hoffa campaign was taping Hoffa campaign signs around Bronx County, New York using tape supplied by Farberware, an IBT employer, constituting an employer contribution, in violation of the Rules. Mr. Connell now advises the Election Office that he wishes to withdraw his protest.
The Election Officer, finding that the withdrawal effectuates the purpose of the Rules, permits the protest to be WITHDRAWN.
